Tom Staar & NEW_ID – Disappear [June 13 – SPRS]
Many people remember their summers because of the music, and this track will definitely define Summer 2016 for plenty of folks. Spinnin’ Records sub-label SPRS welcomes two veterans of the Axtone Records imprint into the fold in the form of Tom Staar and NEW_ID. These two have created summer hits in the past, and the combination of their sounds is fantastic. Tom Staar just dropped a guest mix for Axtone, as well as his revamp of Robbie Rivera‘s “The Funkatron” on the same label. We have not heard much from NEW_ID of late, most recently bringing a remix for CamelPhat‘s “Siren Song” last November, but it is clear that he has been working hard in the studio. Together, these producers created “Disappear”. If you were paying attention during last fall’s Amsterdam Dance Event, you might have heard this song on SLAM!FM. If you missed it, worry not: “Disappear” will drop on June 13.
“Disappear” is the kind of record that really has it all figured out. The combination of emotional vocals and beautiful progressive house melodies is really unbeatable, and Tom Staar and NEW_ID get that message. The preview begins with a very short sample of breakdown, but that segment really shows you what the track is all about. The vocals bring an incredible amount of emotion, and combined with the piano, the summer vibes are palpable. After a very suspenseful and energetic buildup, “Disappear” reaches an incredible drop. Tom Staar and NEW_ID unleash an incredible set of cords atop one of the grooviest basslines I’ve ever heard for a blissful yet powerful climax. Sometimes the tracks that are released in June are the tracks you hear all summer, and “Disappear” definitely has the longevity to make it to September.
Be sure to mark your calendar, and grab “Disappear” once it drops via SPRS on June 13.
