Promise Land – Rebound [Doorn Records]

Promise Land is a duo that has been around the dance music scene for a while now. What they’re doing now is something they have not done before, and that is have their tracks make their way into the sets of top DJs worldwide. We saw it with “X-Press,” and now they have found even more success with “Rebound”. While slightly different than the single referenced in the previous sentence, “Rebound” does well because of its energy, and its intricacies. Promise Land use an almost calm breakdown, using just a single synth and building percussion to allow the energy to crescendo towards the drop. The calm feel disappears entirely after the vocal fill installed by the producers, and they pull out all the stops on the drop. “Rebound” comes next with a heavy bassline, and a chopped up top synth to create a sound that makes dancing easy. The bassline contains plenty of nuances, and Promise Land makes sure to keep the track from getting too repetitive. Plus, there will be a vocal version with Luciana coming in the next few weeks. Promise Land, simply put, are on fire.
