Paul Van Dyk Releases Grateful Letter to Fans, Announces Return to Touring
It was just about three months ago that German trance icon Paul Van Dyk fell from the mainstage at an A State of Trance event in the Dutch city of Utrecht. That was on February 28 of this year, and the DJ/producer was expected to make a full recovery from the cracked vertebrae and concussion that he suffered in his fall.
Van Dyk took to Facebook on Tuesday evening to address his fans and fellow artists, as well as update everyone on his recovery process. He expressed heartfelt thanks to the medical staff that helped him both in Utrecht and in his home city of Berlin. He thanks his family and team for their continuous support, as well as his business partners for welcoming him back with open arms.
“In this day and age, it’s not the norm and I’m very touched by it,” said Van Dyk.
Paul Van Dyk answered the questions that a lot of his fans have been wondering, and that was regarding his return to the road. Van Dyk cautioned that, “there is a long way ahead for me to completely recover,” but said he was aiming to resume touring in mid-June.
Other artists, like fellow trance mainstays Ferry Corsten and Ørjan Nilsen, reacted happily and with relief on the Facebook post after reading the positive news.
“Great news man! See you soon! Take care buddy!” wrote Ferry Corsten.
“We’ve all been worried about you my friend! So happy to see you’re getting back to good health! You’ve been missed and I can’t wait to bug you somewhere around the globe soon!” wrote Ørjan Nilsen.
The prospect of Paul Van Dyk recovering fully is incredible, and is a huge relief after the original fears that surrounded his injury. It will be great to have such a legend back on tour, and we wish him the best in the rest of his recovery process!
