Kill The Buzz & Harrison – Once Upon A Time [Revealed Recordings]
Two names that appear firmly comfortable on the Revealed Recordings imprint are Dutchman Kill The Buzz and Brit Harrison. While past releases on the label are something in common, this is the first time that these two artists have worked together. The result is a track called “Once Upon A Time,” and has left me pleasantly surprised. On his last couple of releases, it seems that Harrison has tried a little too hard to be a hard rock voice, but demonstrates a more nuanced and calm side on this record. That calmer vibe is the perfect companion for the instrumental crafted by Kill The Buzz, which starts off with just a plain and simple pluck synth. Both producer and vocalist push the energy a little more as the chorus hits, as Kill The Buzz introduces a guitar style instrumental onto “Once Upon A Time,” and Harrison belts in a passionate manner. The chorus continues as the buildup gets underway, and Harrison‘s vocals actually continue over the instrumental all the way until a drum fill right before the drop. Kill The Buzz shows off his progressive house prowess on the drop, combining scintillating layers of synths with the perfect amount of bassline to create a progressive record with some punch to it.
