Calvin Harris Escapes Major Injury, Cancels Two Appearances After Los Angeles Car Crash
Scottish DJ/producer Calvin Harris was hospitalized in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, after being involved in a car accident on his way to the airport.
The 32-year-old, who was born as Adam Richard Wiles, was taken to an area hospital after reportedly needing treatment “for (a) laceration on his face,” according to entertainment news website, TMZ. As a result, Calvin Harris and his management announced via Facebook that they decided to cancel his scheduled gig at Omnia Nightclub in Las Vegas, NV. He also canceled his headlining set at Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, AL. New information on refunds or rescheduling has been made available at this time.
The incident took place Friday night when, allegedly, “a (Volkswagen) bug driven by a 16-year-old girl crossed the center line and collided with his vehicle.” He was taken to the hospital, but quickly refused care and “left the (emergency room) against medical advice” after hospital staff could not promise him a private room. The girl was apparently ejected from her vehicle by the force of the crash, but there is no public information on her condition.
The statement posted by management on his Facebook page said that Calvin Harris, “has been examined by doctors and told to rest for a few days.”
