Kygo – Cloud Nine [Sony Music International]
The moment that music fans all across the world have been waiting for has finally arrived. Norwegian Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, better known as Kygo, has released his debut album by the name of Cloud Nine via Sony Music International. The album contains 15 impressive tracks, and also features already released singles “Stole The Show,” “Firestone,” “Stay” and “Nothing Left”. There are 12 new tracks on the album, and there is an impressive variety of sounds on the album.
The tropical house sound is clearly an influence on a lot of tracks, but that simply shows off Kygo’s strength within that genre. There is an impressive cast of vocalists, and features a lot of emotional melodies. There are a few tunes that don’t go with the tropical house vibe, and that is where things start to get impressive. “I’m In Love” rocks big vocals and hip-hop style drums, “Oasis” and “Not Alone” have an up-tempo energy that we rarely see from Kygo, “Fragile” has a minimalist feel, with an intense focus on the vocals, and “For What It’s Worth” has absolutely incredible vocals, a slick orchestral breakdown, and is certainly my favorite non-tropical house tune.
This whole album is highly impressive, and each song is definitely worth a listen.
