Arty Hits Back After Criticism From Attendees at Show in Sydney
In the entertainment industry, it is absolutely impossible to please everyone. Russian DJ/producer Arty found this out the hard way after his show in Sydney, Australia, experienced some serious difficulties. He cleared the air regarding that night through a lengthy letter to his fans posted to his Facebook page. Arty‘s sound has been evolving lately, so he has been doing his best to balance the amount of new music he plays in his sets versus the classics that he made his name from. The fans apparently did not get enough classic Arty, as he received a lot of heat on his song selections that night. The next complication came from Sydney police. They cut down his set to just 45 minutes, which made a group of fans that were already on edge turn even angrier.
“Let me clear it for you. I do have respect for every show that I played in my life, no matter if I got paid or not. I’m going to the stage and trying to do my best every single time.”
– Arty
He also emphasized that at each of his past four shows, his set time has been forcibly altered by either promoters or the police.
As an artist, you can’t fault him for changing up his sound. He clearly wanted to work with something different, And that should not be viewed as a weakness. It’s also not fair to criticize Arty over the issue of his set time. In the battle of DJ versus police, the police will win every time. Arty deserves the benefit of the doubt, and hopefully will not run into issues like this in the future.
