Ingrosso – Dark River (Festival Version) [Refune Music]
Each of the guys behind Axwell Λ Ingrosso have been responsible for an absolute banger as the weather heats up. Axwell took the whole industry by storm by dropping the dynamic “Barricade,” and now his partner Ingrosso strikes with the festival version of “Dark River”. This whole track is full of interesting choices by Ingrosso that work out perfectly together. The sound has very energetic but different feel to it for Ingrosso, as he opted to use a future house influenced synth lead. It still has a powerful drive to it, and has a low-end that will certainly surprise any listener. The breakdown features another one of the great choices that the Swede made, as he followed the Avicii-style folk sound. This sequence rocks a mellow acoustic guitar, and passionate vocals. It gets even more catchy after the vocals with the addition of a whistling sound that follows the same chord progression as the vocals. The festival version changes up the second drop, ditching the future house synth in favor of a grinding, sharp electro synth. Sebastian Ingrosso proves on “Dark River” that he can still kill it on his own, and definitely surpasses all expectations.
