Thursday Thoughts 001: Our Interview With Daddy’s Groove
Editor’s Note: Our interviews have taken on new branding, so we are proud to introduce our new Thursday Thoughts series! All of our exclusive conversations with the hottest artists in dance music will be going up on Thursdays from now on.
We are excited to have talked to Italian DJ/producer duo Daddy’s Groove as our first guest in the new series! Made up of Carlo Grieco (producer and performer) and Peppe Folliero (producer), we discuss the next big genre to hit the mainstream, working together with David Guetta, and their biggest dream they have yet to accomplish. Check it out, and enjoy!
How would you describe your sound to those are not as familiar?
Our sound is a mix between house music and techno music, and it’s where we came from.
What was it like to help David Guetta produce “Bang My Head”?
We help David Guetta to produce all his music; we are in the production team. We take care of the sound and the mix and master, it’s something that we really love to do because we can learn everyday more and more.
What artist or musical act would you like to work with next?
We love Bob Sinclar and Kryder so we would like to co-produce with them.
You guys have collaborated a lot with Mindshake, can you describe the chemistry that you all have in the studio?
The Mindshake are very good producers, and they really know a lot about all the music. We are also friends so it’s very funny to be in the studio with them, and we really enjoy the time spent together, so when we are in the studio together we are really inspired.
How did “Back To 94” come together? How was working with Cimo Fränkel?
Cimo is a great artist for us. When he played to us the first demo of the song, we were really excited and we left to LA to produce the song. We changed it many times, and we worked on it for one year to have the best one.
Given all you’ve accomplished, what is your biggest dream that you have yet to accomplish in your career?
We have many dreams but my personal one is to have our own label, and to help a lot of producers to grow and have a great career.
What do you think is the next genre to hit the mainstream?
I think that house music is coming back strongly and that is what we are going through.
What has been the best moment of your musical career so far?
When Axwell came in our studio to meet us, or in Miami when I met David Guetta for the first time, and the first time we played at Ushuaïa, Pacha, Ministry of Sound, Webster Hall, Zouk and Vision. The first tour in Australia was amazing and the first festival in India, too.
What is in store for Daddy’s Groove over this coming summer?
We have many gigs around the world and we’ll be in Brazil for the first time. Then, we are gonna release three new tracks, which are collaborations with 3 big artists, and at the moment we are mixing the music for (EURO 2016).
Clearly, what Daddy’s Groove has up their sleeves for the summer is going to be quite impressive! Keep it right here to be up-to-date on all of their new music.
