The Chainsmokers feat. Charlee – Inside Out [Columbia Records]

American duo The Chainsmokers have carved out a highly productive niche for themselves in the music industry. The guys who made “Selfie” are nowhere to be found at this point, but that might be one of the biggest compliments for them to receive. They have a big hit titled “Don’t Let Me Down” climbing up to No. 2 on the iTunes Dance Top Songs chart, and have now unleashed a new single called “Inside Out”. This record continues the same trend as their past few singles, ditching a house sound for a more mellow, hip-hop influenced feel. Charlee has a fantastic singing voice, and her vocals serve as the perfect companion to the more calm piano background. The drops hit with a rolling bassline that is highlighted by strong 808’s, and airy progressive synths. These different sounds fit together really well, and continue an impressive hot streak for The Chainsmokers.
