Revealed Recordings Event at Nikki Beach Shut Down
Miami Music Week is well-known throughout the world for some of its crazy parties, and it seems as though one of the most highly awaited parties was a little too much. Hardwell and his Revealed Recordings crew were scheduled to play at Nikki Beach all day from 12 PM all the way until 11 PM, with seven hours of that live streamed in full 360° video.
About 20 minutes or so into his set (the 8:30 p.m. slot), Dannic announced to the crowd via microphone that “the neighbors have fucked up our sound system,” and the crowd visibly lost its energy in response to dramatically lower volume levels. Ten minutes later, he stated he was playing, “one more song, Miami,” as he finished up a transition. The Dutchman ended up finishing out his normal slot, however, before giving way to Hardwell.
From our experience at the Revealed Recordings Bus Tour show, the event staff turns the volume up even louder when Hardwell takes to the stage. He got about 45 minutes into his set when he welcomed W&W onto the stage to debut their new single that also features Lil Jon (yes, it’s that ID track that you’ve been waiting for since last Ultra). The three played a few more songs together, before the sound and lights went dark. The stage remained dark, but a staff member could be seen removing USB sticks from CDJ players, and unplugging their audio cords from the mixer. The crowd could still be seen using the 360° camera remaining loyally in the venue, chanting, “We want Hardwell!” Eventually the crowd mic went out as well, and the stream simply switched to the event’s poster.
Nikki Beach is located in a very upscale part of Miami Beach, Florida, so it is possible that the venue received multiple complaints about the level of noise. That would explain the discrepancies in volume level throughout the latter stages of the evening, before it was shut down. We will update this article with all developments as they come in.
Due to circumstances beyond our control the live stream is cancelled. Thanks everyone for tuning in today!
