Jewelz & Sparks – Drip [Maxximize Records]
Jewelz & Sparks always know how to bring the energy to their new tracks, and “Drip” is absolutely no exception. Their sound has grown over the course of months, and sits perfectly in the middle of calmer progressive house and a more raucous electro style. “Drip” builds off the sounds of their previous single, “I Can Fly,” and results in a banger that really does pack a bunch. The breakdown shows off the creative composition of the record, with the lead synth sounding like a stereotypical water drop. That is clearly where “Drip” derives its name. The drop follows with all of the trademark sounds of Jewelz & Sparks, and then some. That driving bassline and percussive sound that brought them to fame dominates per usual, as well as the addition of a rhythmic vocal sample that serves as a lead sound. These elements fit together impeccably, and “Drip” ends up being a big-room smash that no one really saw coming from Jewelz & Sparks. It has the perfect home on Blasterjaxx‘s Maxximize Records, and has seen excellent support heading into Miami and this year’s festival season. There’s no doubt you’ll hear it during their set at tonight’s Cream Miami event, and an even better shot that it will be well-received at this weekend’s Ultra Music Festival.
