Jewelz & Sparks – Drip [March 14 – Maxximize Records]
Duo Jewelz & Sparks is known for a sound that sits comfortably between that of groove and electro house. For their next release, they go for something a bit more massive as they bring “Drip” to Maxximize Records. The duo has finished out 2015 by coming through on Musical Freedom to drop “I Can Fly,” and also releasing a massive electro styled track titled “Mental” via Darklight Recordings. “Drip” was first debuted by the label bosses themselves, Blasterjaxx, during their set at EDC Orlando back in November 2015, and has since made the radioshow rounds with an impressive number of plays. This new single from Jewelz & Sparks will drop on March 14.
The breakdown begins in a rather simple fashion. A simple tapping sample creates out a beat, before being joined by a synth that sounds like a water drop. That sound is more than likely where “Drip” derives its name. This section of the track does not carry on for too long, as it reaches a buildup after just about 15 seconds. The track builds with the addition of more percussion, and a vocal stab on top of everything. “Drip” drops like a bigger version of “I Can Fly,” by fusing a relentless bassline together with a percussive lead and vocal stab.
This tune is big, and will definitely be played out when Jewelz & Sparks play at Tujamo and Danny Avila‘s CREAM event in Miami next week. Be ready to grab it when it drops on March 14!
