Skrillex and Diplo Win Grammys For Best Dance Recording, Album
The 58th Annual Grammy Awards were more than kind to the American super-duo Skrillex and Diplo, also known as Jack Ü. The duo pulled out two huge Grammy wins in the categories of Best Dance Recording and Best Dance Album.
The track that won Best Dance Recording comes as absolutely no surprise, as Jack Ü‘s high-profile collaboration with Justin Bieber known was “Where Are Ü Now” took the crown. The track peaked at #6 in the Billboard Hot 100, and also has been certified double platinum within the United States. The track was also the fourth most Shazamed song during 2015’s Tomorrowland festival.
The album that gave the world “Where Are Ü Now” snagged the award for Best Dance Album, and is titled Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack U. The album also featured the single “Take Ü There” (feat. Kiesza) and had prominent artists like 2Chainz and AlunaGeorge featured on the album. The album peaked at #26 on the Billboard Hot 200 album chart.
To win the Best Dance Recording section, the duo beat out Above & Beyond, Galantis, The Chemical Brothers, and Flying Lotus. The album beat out The Chemical Brothers, Disclosure, Jamie xx, and Caribou to complete their sweep of the 2016 dance music Grammys.
