The Magician – Together (Remixes) [Potion Records]

The Magician recruits two amazing duos to remix “Together.” Both Zonderling and Lucas & Steve bring their signature styles to their remixes. I think The Magician made the right choice picking these guys to remix his track because the results are absolutely stunning.

The Zonderling remix has their traditional plucky style that is kind of all over the place. It’s very melodic and bubbly underneath the vocals and drop. There is a lot going on during the drop, but it all somehow fits and doesn’t muddy up any of the other sounds. When I listen to it, I always hear something new. But, the melody is more minimal than the drop, which contrasts nicely despite having the same basic sound.

The Lucas & Steve remix has their signature minimal style. During the melody, the vocals are the focus and what they want you to hear. But, the drop has that little pluck that they’ve become famous for, and steadily has a little more added to it. The second melody is similar to the first with the pluck, but gets louder and more prominent as the melody goes on.

Both remixes are incredibly well done. Like I said earlier, The Magician definitely picked the right people to take a crack at his song. If you don’t have a copy of either the Zonderling or Lucas & Steve remixes of “Together,” make sure you get them both. Take a listen below and enjoy!
