Ultra Music Festival Releases 2016 Phase One Lineup
Even though we still have the rest of 2015 to enjoy, the biggest festival of spring 2016 has announced its landmark Phase One lineup. Miami’s Ultra Music Festival will be taking place from March 18, 19, and 20 in its usual spot in downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park.
The festival has announced 30 different headliners, and 44 different support artists for just the first of three announcements for what has always served as the inaugural part of festival season. The biggest announcement of all is the return of Pendulum. After going on official hiatus in January 2012, the band will be back on the mainstage. Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen will also be headlining with a Knife Party set. A lot of the usual suspects have returned as well, with Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, and many more.
The support list is just as star-studded as that of the headliners. There is a much larger variety of artists, and there are plenty of live acts to supplement the plethora of DJs. The festival has also announced the seven stages for this year’s Ultra, with an emphasis on this year’s Resistance stage powered by British production company Arcadia Spectacular. They spotlighted this stage because the “50 ton, 20m tall Spider structure is constructed from fully recycled materials and shoots flames up to 50 feet in the air while requiring … 45 people to operate it.”
As per a few years ago, the festival remains 18+ for entry, and they have announced that General Admission and VIP tickets are currently on sale priced at $324.95 (€299,02) and $1,249.95 (€1150,23) respectively. Tickets can be purchased here.
