Hardwell feat. Jake Reese – Mad World [Revealed Recordings]
The dust finally settled from the release of his inaugural studio album, United We Are, and Hardwell has come through yet again with a powerful progressive house tune. This marks the first of two collaborations with Jake Reese (the second one is still an ID), and goes by the title of “Mad World”. There was some uproar over the discovery that Hardwell used a loop from a sample pack for the guitar section of the breakdown, but its really no secret that artists in every corner of the industry utilize sample packs. Aside from that, “Mad World” has a very strong sound in the breakdown, thanks to incredible vocals from Jake Reese. From that point, it’s a pretty standard buildup before dropping into one of Hardwell‘s better progressive house drops. A melodic progression of synth stabs plays out across a lively bassline to create a track that has been killing it as festivals throughout the summer.
