Matisse & Sadko – Lock ‘N’ Load [October 9 – Spinnin’ Records]
The phrase “highly-awaited” would serve as an understatement when it comes to the next track from Russian duo, Matisse & Sadko. They have been on absolute fire of late, coming off of two releases with Dutchman Martin Garrix under the names of “Dragon” and “Break Through The Silence”. “Lock ‘N’ Load” has been making the rounds all throughout festival season, popping up at huge festivals like EDC Las Vegas, Creamfields, and Mysteryland. Plus, the tune was most recently featured as a big part of Steve Angello‘s landmark Beats One mix from just a few weeks ago. “Lock ‘N’ Load” will be available via Spinnin’ Records on October 9.
“Lock ‘N’ Load” is quite different than your usual Matisse & Sadko tune, and that is noticeable right from the start. This tune is not light and progressive, but the Russians do this darker sound quite well. The lead synth for the breakdown sounds like a highly distorted electric guitar, but maintains the melodic prowess that Matisse & Sadko have shown in each of their past tunes. Their experimentation with new sounds continues as the drop comes into play, as a primarily acid house influenced lead partners with a merciless bassline for an essential club hit.
Grab “Lock ‘N’ Load” when it drops via Spinnin’ Records on October 9.
