W&W & MOTi – Spack Jarrow [Musical Freedom]

I’ll be honest: I was, and still am, a huge fan of the 2013 big room sound. The obsession with a percussive lead for a drop died off pretty quickly, but thankfully, was resurrected by Dutch duo W&W and solo artist MOTi. Their collaboration together is called “Spack Jarrow,” and has made a massive waves since its first play during Miami Music Week in March 2015. As you can tell by the title, the song is slightly influenced by the epic theme song of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise. That influence is the main driving force behind the melody, which has a pretty epic and orchestral sound to it. That melody combined with a creative take on the buildup sequence sets this track apart from the majority of other big-room tracks today. The drop does that 2013 percussive sound proud with a booming bass kick that alternates pitches along with everyone’s favorite pluck sound.
