The Weeknd – Can’t Feel My Face (Martin Garrix Remix) [Release Info TBA]
It’s official: there’s nothing Martin Garrix cannot do. After dominating the Beatport Top 100 charts with 14 #1’s throughout his career, and groundbreaking festival sets and residencies, the Dutch hitmaker adds star remixer to his already impressive résumé. He has been teasing this one for a few weeks now, and has now officially premiered his remix for The Weeknd‘s smash hit, “Can’t Feel My Face”. This one was a big piece of his Tomorrowland mainstage set this year, and has also picked up support from the Bassjackers. Garrix simply uploaded the full track to his SoundCloud page with no details on the release, but we’ll be sure to update this article once those are disseminated.
I have a funny feeling that this remix is going to be played out all over the place once its released for a few different reasons. First of all, dancefloors will go absolutely insane for the chance to sing along to the lyrics. They’re catchy, and still sound great at the 128 tempo. Martin Garrix did a tremendous job creating a breakdown that frames the vocals, rather than detracting from them. If you listen closely, he brought back the ticking clock sample that he became famous for during the intro of “Animals”. The drop combines a few touches from his recent progressive productions, and a sweet throwback to his early electro days before his big-room craze. What did you expect when you combine one of the hottest radio tunes with one of the most popular DJs in the world? This remix.
Again, we’re not sure exactly when this remix will be released, so stay tuned!
