Volt & State – Sandcastles [Protocol Recordings]

It seems like Dutch duo Volt & State has struck gold with every release. Their discography is filled to the brim with progressive house hits that have seen the support of huge names. They have gone back to their perennial label home in Protocol Recordings for the release of “Sandcastles”. This one follows a blueprint they have used successfully before, and the success just keeps coming. Heartfelt vocals dominate the breakdown, which also features an unreal melody. That melody goes on to dominate just about the whole track, as it is the centerpiece for the buildup and the drops. More vocals come back during the second breakdown, and that then develops back into that same wonderful melody as before. Simply put, Volt & State have done it yet again with emotional lyrics and high-octane melodies.
