Henry Fong & Futuristic Polar Bears – Velocity [August 3 – Revealed Recordings]
Upon the release of the most recent Revealed compilation, one of the most intriguing collaborations was that between American Henry Fong and British trio Futuristic Polar Bears. The track is called “Velocity,” and has been a huge tune in the recent sets for label boss Hardwell. This marks the first time that these artists have worked together, but not the first time their work has landed on this label. Henry Fong essentially got his career off the ground when he released “Get Down” with Landis on the first ever Revealed Miami compilation, and the Futuristic Polar Bears struck gold with their release “Back To Earth”. “Velocity” will be released on August 3.
This track is one of those collaborations where you can listen to any given section and know who did the most work on it. Now, that description actually allows this tune to be more unique. The drop has two distinct sections to it that alternate throughout. The first part is a smooth, almost progressive sound that slides between notes. Just a few beats later, the mood changes to a more staccato vibe that quickly goes upward in pitch. That combination is killer, and covers all the bases for a big-room track. “Velocity” has the perfect melody to fit this atmosphere, as it grows from simple plucks into a powerful, full-bodied sound. Simply put, this clash of style between Henry Fong and the Futuristic Polar Bears is top-notch.
Grab “Velocity” when it drops via Revealed Recordings on August 3.
