Volt & State – Sandcastles [August 3 – Protocol Recordings]
Ever since they decided to collaborate consistently, Volt & State have had a dominating effect upon the progressive house industry. They seem to have found a very solid home in Protocol Recordings, and experienced success with tunes like “Warriors” and “Rush”. Their collection of impressive tracks expands even further now as the duo presents their latest single, “Sandcastles”. The tune started off as a highly demanded ID track in the sets of Nicky Romero, and now has an official release date of August 3.
It’s pretty easy to classify this track as vocal progressive house, and Volt & State have proven this to be their signature sound. Just like “Warriors,” there is an uncredited male vocalist who begins to sing over a subtle set of chords; paced by a soft bass kick. The vocals flow very smoothly from verse to chorus, and the instrumental follows suit as a high-energy melody becomes more prominent as the song goes. The low-end cuts out as the build brings the drop closer, and soon the sound is just full-on progressive house.
“Sandcastles” will drop via Protocol Recordings on August 3.
