Magnificence – Generation [Code Red]

It’s no secret that Magnificence is a formidable name in today’s dance music industry. Previous releases on Protocol Recordings speak to their successes, and their résumé expands to be more impressive with the release of “Generation” on Marcus Schössow‘s Code Red imprint. I’ll be honest: I’m one of those writers who is starting to get tired of the whole groove sound, but this track is actually unique. “Generation” has a powerful energy to it that most groove songs simply do not have. This energy spawns from the choice of top synth, and grows as the result of an ear-catching baseline. Also, unlike most groove tracks, there is no energy lost when the track transitions to break down. Magnificence keeps the gas pedal to the floor all throughout on “Generation,” and the result is one of their most impressive tracks to date.
