Dropgun – Ninja [July 13 – Skink]
The Showtek-owned Skink imprint came out with an ID teaser just a few weeks ago, and that got the Internet rumor mill going. Since they finally started recruiting artists besides themselves to that label, they added a new name to their roster. Dropgun is the latest to show off his talent, as his track “Ninja” was the track in question. The Russian most recently released a track called “Cobra” together with Dutchman Tony Junior through Doorn Records. With the task of guessing the artist out-of-the-way, and popular guesses like Riggi & Piros, Quintino, and Pep & Rash debunked, Dropgun will drop “Ninja” on July 13.
None of the guesses listed in the first paragraph are actually too far-fetched, especially if you just listen to the preview. The melody follows a pretty simple but catchy progression, and is played out with a set of synths that are plenty loud. The sound has plenty of energy, and it grows even higher with the addition of a looped vocal sample during the buildup. It’s after the build up that this track takes a turn in a direction not usually associated with Dropgun. The track actually drops into a future house sound rather than big room, and it’s a sound that will get dance floors packed everywhere.
Grab “Ninja” on its official release date of July 13.
