Martin Garrix vs. Matisse & Sadko – Dragon [July 6 – Spinnin’ Records]
For months now, there have been whispers of a collaboration between Dutch teen icon Martin Garrix and Russian duo Matisse & Sadko. The hype increased during recent gigs for each act, and the existence of the song “Dragon” was confirmed last week by Dutch mega-label Spinnin’ Records. Martin Garrix most recently worked with Dutch legend Tiësto on “The Only Way Is Up,” while Matisse & Sadko provided a remix for Tom Fall‘s tune “Azonto” back in February of this year. This track has been in high demand from fans everywhere, and “Dragon” will be released on July 6.
The way that “Dragon” sounds follows a new trend towards progressive house for Martin Garrix, and matches the traditional sound that Matisse & Sadko are very well known for. This combination blends very well together, and the melody that the track possesses has an incredibly high amount of energy. The sound is slightly reminiscent of Martin Garrix‘s edit for DubVision’s “Backlash,” and Matisse & Sadko‘s “SLVR” with Steve Angello. That blissful progressive vibe prevails as the main focus once the track shifts from breakdown to drop. It’s clear that the artists took the time necessary to make “Dragon” perfect, and that this tune will be well worth the wait.
Grab “Dragon” when it’s finally released on July 6.
