RL Grime – Scylla (VIP)
One of the coolest intros in any DJ set I have ever experienced came when fellow editor Hartel Smith and I went to check out RL Grime on his VOID tour. That intro was a mashup of two tracks off the album, “Let Go” and “Scylla”. One of those two tracks has been given a bit of a twist in the studio, and released for free. That track is “Scylla,” and its VIP is phenomenal. It still has a very similar sound to the original mix, but rocks a pitched up sound thats a solid change of pace from the original. All three drops have a similar change when compared to the original. The good news is that “Scylla” now hits even harder than before, and this twist is something that revitalizes the track for DJs everywhere this summer.
