Row Rocka – Colossus [June 26 – Revealed Recordings]
It’s pretty rare to see an artist as young as Row Rocka be so successful in the highly competitive dance music industry. However, he has done it well for a couple of years now. He signed a track “Gate 9” to the second edition of the Revealed Talent EP, and has followed with big singles on Revealed as well as Protocol Recordings. He brings his massive sound back to the label where it all started as he teases “Colossus”. This tune started out as a big piece of Hardwell‘s Tomorrowland Brazil set, and was officially debuted in episode 222 of his radioshow. Row Rocka‘s latest installment of big-room madness on Revealed Recordings will be released on June 26.
Of every track released by Row Rocka to this point in his career, “Colossus” is definitely one of his most adventurous tunes. He took some risks in the production process, and they all seem to have played out to his advantage. The 18-year-old seems to change up his synth choice every few bars during the breakdown, and that gives the melody a dynamic feel that is absent in the typical mainstream house track. The signature Row Rocka sound really comes into play just a few beats before the drop, as a DJ scratch sample triggers pounding kicks and screaming synths for a drop big enough for a “Colossus”.
This big new tune from Row Rocka will drop via Revealed Recordings on June 26.
