Lucas & Steve vs. Matt & Kendo – You And I Know [June 29 – Spinnin’ Deep]
Future house has proven to be more than just a fluke trend, and two duos that have taken advantage of that fact are Lucas & Steve and Matt & Kendo. Each duo hails from the Netherlands, and has been very well-received in the current revival of traditional house music. Lucas & Steve have been more focused on newer-sounding mainstream future house, while Matt & Kendo have been perfecting an underground sound that has snuck under the radar. Their sounds have collided on the biggest label of them all as they gear up to release “You And I Know” through Spinnin’ Deep. The track was one of the main focuses on the newly released Summer Mix from Spinnin’ Records, and is due out on June 29.
“You And I Know” has many of the different stereotypical features of a future house track, but implements them in a way that keeps it from sounding boring. The main breakdown is comprised of a vocal loop that’s pitched down, and a very standard sounding piano. That combination does appear in a lot a future has tunes, but Lucas & Steve and Matt & Kendo kept the concept fresh. With a catchy and calming melody paired alongside a bassline meant for a packed dancefloor, “You And I Know” will be a tough tune to keep out of your head this summer.
With support already from R3hab, Tiësto, and Oliver Heldens, you can be sure that “You And I Know” will be a success on the charts when it drops on June 29 via Spinnin’ Deep.
