Patric La Funk, Sesa – Wazzup [Darklight Recordings]
Out on Darklight, Fedde Le Grand’s label, is a new track from Patric La Funk that is electro house a la 2010. The track has that classic pre-Hardwell feel and while it does feel a bit contrived, benefits greatly from the throwback to a different style of electro. The synths are a bit muddier, the track seems to be a bit too similar to a certain hit track that came out a while ago, and things don’t really tend to go anywhere. Luckily, the old-school style of the track brings with it a bit of nostalgia that does well for it, especially when the music itself fails to impress. Patric and Fedde had a great track with “Autosave”, and I like some of the other work Patric has done, but this track unfortunately falls short. As with the uninspiring title: “Wazzup”, the track lacks a sense of style and unique qualities. Give it a listen to decide for yourself, but I’m guessing most of you will hit “next” on your browser.
