DVBBS – White Clouds [Spinnin’ Records]
Normally, I’d be the first to criticize a DVBBS track if it was their typical, monotonous big-room sound. The way they changed their sound up for their next release “White Clouds” is more than impressive. The track that serves as the follow-up in both name and sound to “Gold Skies” has that familiar progressive house vibe to it with a flair that only these two Canadian brothers can provide. The vocals on the track actually come from one of the DVBBS brothers, and its safe to say he killed it on the mic. The rest of the breakdown has a mellow atmosphere to it, but that does not last for long. The drop still has the trademark DVBBS punch to it, but showcases a more melodic side that is a very welcome breath of fresh air. Don’t get too sick of hearing “White Clouds” anytime soon: it has that summer anthem vibe that will make it a timeless track for this summer.
