Andy Moor, Somna – One Thing About You [AVA Recordings (Black Hole)]
Andy Moor and Somna’s “One Thing About You” is classic, feel-good trance music and deserves your ears. First of all, it is melodically intense, and very strong. From the vocal-laden break, to the synth-heavy drop, the track is catchy and makes you feel exactly how a trance track should: happy. The vocals, done by Amy Kirkpatrick are well done and fit the tone and style of the song. I also enjoyed the grimy synths underneath certain areas of the track that gave the light-hearted trance a bit of an edge. Overall, a well-done piece of music and worth a listen. Clayfacer’s remix is a total change from the style of the original and is also very well-done. It definitely accentuates the chill-out genre and is a really great listen for really any kind of activity, and especially great on a sunny summer day. I like the playfulness of the instruments, and the use of percussion alongside them.
Both of these tracks are great listens, and should be on everybody’s list of songs for this month.
