GTA – Death To Genres, Vol. 1 [Three Six Zero/Warner Bros.]
American genre-bending duo GTA has built their reputation around a fully-authentic passion for all types of music. This is on display in every one of their DJ sets as they flawlessly shift back and forth between different styles and tempos. They have brought this mentality into their next release as they work with some big names and on their own to release the first volume of Death To Genres EPs. The EP begins with two massive big-room house style productions titled “Break Your Neck” with Valentino Khan and “What We Tell Dem” together with Wiwek. Each rocks a pounding bass kick and a wild array of top sounds. Trap and rap then comes into play as the duo works with Sam Bruno and Paul Wall & Clyde Carson for “Red Lips” and “Smokers Unite” respectively. In between those two tracks, sit “Moruga” and “Parental Advisory,” which are two solo big-room jams from the duo. Both massive, of course. The EP is then rounded out with arguably the most highly awaited tune of them all, known as “Mic Check” together with TJR. That tune is a massive combination of big-room and Melbourne bounce and has already killed dance floors worldwide while both artists were on tour together.
