Cold Burn – Needles (Original Mix) [Octopus Records]
Needles is a very well-done techno track by Cold Burn that was released on Octopus about a week ago. For those who are into that late-night techno vibe, this track is exactly what you need. The kick drum is thick, deep, dark and thumps through your speakers with a vengeance. This is then complimented by a similarly styled bass-line that adds an extra element of style and quality as it fills in the gaps left by the pounding kick. Couple this with effects on top that put the listener in a trance, and you have all the elements of a quality techno tune. That being said, the track itself does suffer from a bit too much repetition and is also brought down a bit by its lack of real variety. While it can be good to listen to for a few minutes or in a club, outside of these two listening options, the track does not do too well. I do however believe that overall this track is really well done and deserves at least your ears.
