Sander van Doorn & Firebeatz & Julian Jordan – Rage [February 16 – Doorn Records]

When Sander van Doorn, Firebeatz, and Julian Jordan found themselves crammed onto their tour bus last year during their Canadian bus tour, they did what came naturally: produce a track together. The result of that work is “Rage,” a solid-sounding hybrid of big-room power and future house melody. These artists are still connected in other ways, however. Sander van Doorn has worked with both Firebeatz and Julian Jordan previously, producing hits like “Guitar Track” and “Kangaroo,” respectively. Once the tour was finished, the recap video showed all of their antics, and a piece of the production process for “Rage”. All of the hard work is done now, and “Rage” will be released on February 16 through Doorn Records.

The breakdown begins with a darker vibe, and a little preview of what the melody will bring. The melody then comes in at a much higher pitch than the rest of the sounds already in play. It slides smoothly from note to note in a manner so captivating that a second listen is necessary to really appreciate the sound. The melody is able to grow louder as more layers are added to it, and it soon filters down into the buildup. The build leads to a quick “this is how we rage” sample, which then summons the drop. “Rage” drops with a powerful fusion of big-room bass and future house energy that is bound to send it straight to the top of the charts.
