Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike vs. Fedde Le Grand feat. Julian Perretta – Tales of Tomorrow [Darklight Recordings]
“Tales of Tomorrow” is far more Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike than Fedde Le Grand in both the good ways, and bad. Let’s start off with the good: the track is very well done in terms of sound quality. The synths are clear, the mixing is done well, and it has that loud energy that DV & LM bring with them on their productions. It’s meant to keep a festival going, it has that big build to the progressive drop that is fun to listen to, and it sounds good. The bad part is that it is entirely unoriginal and unimaginative. It’s that same crap we’ve been hearing for way too long with forced, forgettable melodies and repetitive track structure. It’s entirely empty, soulless, and absolutely heart breaking for people who saw the rise of progressive house and what it used to be. This track could use more Fedde in a big way.
The verdict? If you like to buy every new progressive track that comes out, then go ahead I guess. I do implore you to take a second before you click buy, because you could have so much better. And you deserve better! Don’t vote with your dollar for recycled house music. Save it for something else.
