Oliver Heldens – Koala (Wayne & Woods vs. Mason’s Rave Remix)
Oliver Heldens has had a tremendous amount of success with his conversion from electro house to the newly created genre of future house. Hits like “Gecko” and “Pikachu” (with Mr. Belt & Wezol) have become popular thanks to their infectious melodies, but the focus now shifts to a brand-new adaptation of “Koala”. This remix comes in from a collaboration of Swedish duos Wayne & Woods and Mason’s Rave, who take the track in a direction that is closer to where Heldens began his productions. The melody features multiple layers during each breakdown, and is also set together with another synth playing a constant note underneath to make the chord progression have a punchier sound. One of the most noticeable changes in the sound of “Koala” between the original mix and this new remix is the different bassline. Gone is the signature future house sub-bass, and it is replaced by an acid house sound. This combination is killer, as the Oliver Heldens progression combines perfectly with the electro/acid influence of Wayne & Woods and Mason’s Rave.
