Dyro & Bassjackers – X [December 15 – WOLV Records]
As they continue to take on the dance floor is all over North America as part of their second headlining tour together, Dyro and Bassjackers have struck yet again with another massive collaborative cut. Many fans will remember “Grid,” and the crazy tour that followed it’s release, but the order is switched as the tour has already begun, and “X” has finally been debuted. This track serves as the followup to “Grid,” which dropped through Spinnin’ Records back in February 2013. “X” is scheduled to drop through Dyro‘s brand new WOLV Records imprint, which is recently supported Dyro-created hits like “WOLV” and “Against All Odds”. Bassjackers has been pumping out huge tracks left and right, with “Like That” and “Savior” showing up in DJ sets everywhere. “X” is set to hit Beatport on December 15.
“X” seems to be the perfect mix of a bunch of recent dance music trends, all put together to perfection. It represents the resurgence of melodic Progressive house music, yet utilizes an unforgiving hardstyle synth on the main lead during the breakdown. The quality of suspense it’s one of the most important parts of “X,” since the melody lasts for about 30 seconds and then the buildup takes over for an equal period of time. The main melody filters down into the background, while the drop’s progression begins to take over the main soundscape. The most unique aspect of the buildup is the percussion, as the snare rolls come closer together to give the impression of a rising tempo. This cranks the energy to an unbearable level, and after a quick vocal sample, “X” drops hard. The madness of this drop simply screams both Dyro and Bassjackers, as the signature electric guitar-like synth of Dyro matches perfectly with a Bassjackers heavy bassline.
Grab “X” when it drops on December 15. Enjoy!
