Summer School – Control [Oxygen]

Summer School returns for his second release on Spinnin Records sub-label, Oxygen. “Control” is a departure from his first release on Oxygen, but there are a few elements that are seen in both songs.

“Control” starts off fairly calm, but quickly builds up into a progressive house banger. The melody really gives it a certain feeling with the high pitched bleeps, fading into gliding synths and back again. The gritty buildup lets you know that you’re in for a treat. the drop has that similar gliding synth sound with bleeps fading in towards the end of the drop. At the end of both drops, we hear a similar sound to Summer School‘s first Oxygen release, “Choose Your Weapon.” It’s somewhat of a minimal, “Merk & Kremont-esque” sound, but it flows well with the original, progressive drop.
