Nicky Romero & Anouk – Feet On The Ground (Remixes) [November 24 – Protocol Recordings]
Nicky Romero debuted the first single off of his yet untitled studio album back in June of this year, when he released his collaboration with Anouk titled “Feet On The Ground”. The original mix was popular on Beatport, as it reached as high as the #3 spot on both the overall top 100 list and progressive house list. As well, it experienced mainstream radio success in the Netherlands, as the Utrecht-born producer and The Hague-native vocalist watched “Feet On The Ground” peak at #80 on the Dutch mainstream radio charts. In order to spread the sound of “Feet On The Ground,” Romero and Anouk have recruited five different remixers in the form of Arno Cost, Merk & Kremont, Flashmob, BARE, and GusGus vs. T-World. All five remixes are scheduled for release on November 24 through Protocol Recordings.
Arno Cost comes in strong with his remix, which fills up the #1 slot on the EP. He uses an energetic top line alongside a dynamic chord progression to give the track a little more progressive house power. Merk & Kremont come in at #2, marking their second appearance on Protocol Recordings. The Italian duo utilizes a sweet vocoder-affected buildup, and the same grooving sound that has brought them to unquestionable success this year. Deep house has made a comeback in 2014, and Flashmob brings it with the #3 track on the remix EP. A tantalizing bassline capitalizes on a smooth tempo to create an essential and vibe-filled deep house rendition. For the festival trap enthusiasts, BARE brings his madness as remix #4. He is able to combine the overall feel of the original with shamelessly loud synths and a pounding 808-kick for ultimate dance floor destruction. Coming in at #5 to round off the EP is the tag-team of GusGus vs. T-World. They bring a unique and body-moving techno take and creatively use the chopped acapella during their drop.
Grab all five of these “Feet On The Ground” remixes when they drop on November 24.
