Eva Shaw – Space Jungle (Showtek Edit) [December 1 – Skink]
The brothers involved in the Dutch hardstyle-turned-house duo Showtek have taken the lid off of yet another massive big-room edit for mainstream consumption. They once again welcome a new artist to their Skink label catalog to follow up the MAKJ & M35 track “GO!,” which the duo edited to the tune of a #3 peak in the Beatport overall top 100 chart. They now try their luck with the track “Space Jungle,” which originally came out of the studio of Eva Shaw. Fans will recognize this tune as Showtek‘s opener from Belgium’s Tomorrowland festival, and its recent takeover of major DJ radio shows. The Showtek edit of “Space Jungle” is set to be released on December 1 through Skink.
Originally, there was only a tantalizing teaser posted for this track that only featured the first beat of the drop. Thankfully, Skink has released proper preview with plenty to excite the listener. The melody starts off simply as piano, but soon grows using a signature synth combination that has served Showtek quite well. It sounds as though there is crowd noise attached to the melody sequence, but that chord progression combined with the bassline that is present should be more than capable of getting just about any audience jumping. The main sound soon fades down, and a repeated vocal sample highlights a buildup full of suspense. A quick drum breakdown ushers in a powerful big-room drop, which features the same chord progression as the melody with a razor-sharp topline and an unrivaled bassline that only a duo of Eva Shaw and Showtek could provide.
Be sure to grab the Showtek edit of Eva Shaw‘s “Space Jungle” when it drops on December 1. Enjoy!
