Oliver Heldens, Mr Belt & Wezol – Pikachu [Spinnin’ Records]

In 2014, Oliver Heldens grew from a big talent to an absolute worldstar. With his first huge hit, ‘Gecko’ he drew everyone’s attention and he never slowed down from that second. With some new Beatport-Top-100-leading tracks, he confirmed his status as Deep House master. Mr Belt & Wezol also had a superb year, with their first releases on Spinnin’ and worldwide appreciation for their never disappointing tracks. Well sit tight, because their famous collab ‘Pikachu’ is out now on Spinnin’ Records.

If you’re not familiar with Pikachu, I wonder where you have been for the last 20 years. Pokemon became one of Nintendo’s biggest successes and Ash’ biggest mate Pikachu played a big part in this achievement. But enough geek talk for this moment, back to the track. It’s yet another huge production by these producers, with a heavily uplifting break, that gets some Pikachu support. You know things are getting serious when the ‘vocals’ increase and the climax is ready to drop. It’s a typical drop for the Dutchmen and it is nothing less than enormous!
