DJ Mag Top 100 2014: Hardwell Retains #1 Title

After days of speculation and a leak that looked almost real, the results of this year’s DJ Mag Top 100 poll are out. Let’s get to the biggest piece of info right from the start: Hardwell has maintained his grip upon the #1 DJ throne, and is the first to repeat since Armin van Buuren won it four straight times between 2007 and 2010. This year’s top three featured the two familiar names mentioned earlier, as well as Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, who jumped up four spots from #6 to #2. The winner of this year’s highest entry award goes to a man who will be hanging up the decks later this year, in the form of Deorro. Although he has announced his imminent retirement from DJing, and not producing, Deorro still had a great time rocking the crowd at Amsterdam Music Festival. This year’s biggest jump in the poll is no surprise, as Ummet Ozcan has been on absolute fire this past year, and jumped 68 spots from #99 all the way up to #31. The biggest fall goes to Ferry Corsten, who dropped 49 positions to #91 from #42.
