Various Artists – Suara Showroom 23 [Suara]
A new Suara Showroom is out! The 23rd in the series so far, the release features four original techno/tech house tracks that showcase the style and ability of a group of different artists. Each track is high energy, percussion and bass focused, and will keep any dance floor moving. Black Cat is fast paced, and pumps along at a really great tempo for the genre. The bass-line underneath is also top notch as it is instrumentally interesting, but also sits a little further down in the mix so it isn’t always necessarily the most audible element. It adds a nice thick feel to the track and is a great rhythmic compliment to the drums. One House cools the release down a bit coming in at a slower tempo, with a more present bass-line and a larger focus on vocals. The bass line, once again, compliments the percussion very well and the track grooves hard.
My favorite track of the release, although all of these tracks are top notch, is “Wreck Your Body”. The style is so incredibly unique, the production quality is there, and the tempo and groove are on point. The kick drum is unlike any I’ve heard in a long time and has such a profound impact on the overall feel of the track in such a good way. I love how the kick is combined with other synths to create a depth of sound that takes a few listens to really break apart. Finally, Romero’s track closes the release with a frenetic, intense, and up-beat techno track that relies heavily on percussion and the way it is mixed within the release to create a specific feel. I like how instruments are mixed to specific sides in order to create an ambient effect to those who would be in a club. Another great release for Suara’s Showroom series, give it a listen.
