Trouble Ahead For Krewella
It doesn’t seem like that long ago that Krewella was the poster child for EDM. They were putting out hit after hit and every single radio station was playing “Alive” 6-7 times a day. Members Kris Trindl, Jahan Yousaf, and Jasmine Yousaf were party animals that attracted a huge fan base with their sexually charged social media profiles, amazing live performances, and unique combination of rock and electronic music, but after Kris “Rain Man” went through a rehab stint and toned things way down the two sisters wanted nothing to do with him. Many people attribute a big portion of the trio’s success to Rain Man’s production skills, so losing him would be pretty bad for Krewella. Without knowing the full story from both sides it’s hard to say who’s right and who’s wrong, but it’s clear that the road ahead for them looks very bumpy.
It has now come to the forefront that Kris, known better amongst the fans as “Rain Man,” has now sued the Yousaf sisters for $5 million after alleging he was kicked out of the duo after going to rehab. Supposedly, his newfound sobriety irritated the sisters since it damaged the Krewella image of spending all day in an alcohol-induced stupor and constantly partying. However, the sisters have responded claiming that Kris actually willingly “resigned” from the group. It’s unclear who is telling the truth, so the lawsuit will have to run its course before we actually know what has been going on. Below, we’ve included the full statement coming from the Yousaf sisters, and some humor from everyone’s favorite social media commentator, deadmau5.
Statement from Yousaf sisters:
To our krew:
We woke up this morning to the lawsuit Kris filed against us. As you all know, there are two sides to every story. We ask our fans to please be patient and not come to any conclusions until we are able to respond to the lawsuit with the truth. Our team has advised that we don’t get into any specifics until we can properly respond to the false claims made—most importantly being that we did not kick Kris out of Krewella, he resigned. We’re having a really difficult time today. As we write this letter to you, we are in the studio working on the second album. Please hang in there with us, the truth will eventually come out. Thank you for being so supportive, we love you guys.
Love, Y & J
And now, deadmau5:
