MOTi & Kenneth G – Zeus [September 8 – Musical Freedom Records]
Summer 2014 has been kind to both MOTi and Kenneth G. The two Dutch solo artists had already cemented their names as contenders in the big room industry, but have now elevated their status to superstar thanks to a bunch of powerful solo tracks and collaborations on a myriad of labels throughout the festival season. MOTi teamed up perennial partner Quintino on “Crash,” and Kenneth G has linked up with both Bassjackers and FTampa in the recent months. Now these two big room titans will collide on a track called “Zeus,” which is signed through Tiësto‘s Musical Freedom Records label. It won’t be the first appearance for either through the imprint, as each has sent a release through the label of the man elected as the best DJ of all time by DJ Mag. “Zeus” is off to a banging start with support from Quintino, Hardwell, and Tiësto himself. It is scheduled to be released on September 8 through Beatport.
Musical Freedom has only privileged us with a short preview, but it is pretty simple to get the gist of the track from the 90 seconds we are given. The teaser covers what sounds like the intro, and the build. While it is impossible to fully judge a track from its promo teaser, “Zeus” sounds like its going to be the next big thing for the mainstage. The track makes fantastic use of a fat bass kick, and it’s partner: perfectly layered synths that take up the entire stereo spectrum. The top and bottom lines fuse perfectly, and its just another huge big room take from both MOTi and Kenneth G.
Grab this new high-octane banger when it drops on September 8. Enjoy!
