Sander van Doorn & Martin Garrix & DVBBS feat. Aleesia – Gold Skies (Remixes Part 1) [September 8 – Spinnin’ Remixes]
When Sander van Doorn, Martin Garrix, and DVBBS all combined their production talents earlier in 2014, the result that took over the dance music world was a tune known as “Gold Skies”. The track galvanized the entire scene, as it took over the #1 spot on the overall Beatport Top 100 chart for an overwhelming 13 days. A song with this much success could only be remixed by some of dance music finest names, and “Gold Skies” has certainly gotten the royal treatment. Dutch dance music king Tiësto slots as the tracks #1 remixer, and he is followed by the likes of DubVision, Overused, and Ferreck Dawn & Redondo. The remix EP, which hints at another edition coming down the line, is scheduled to be released through the newly minted Spinnin’ Remixes imprint.
The sound on the Tiësto remix is pretty out of the ordinary when compared to his usual tunes. His most recent tracks have gone back and forth between electro house and progressive house, but this one is entirely different. His “Gold Skies” remix has the sound of a clash between big room and Melbourne bounce that resembles the music of VINAI. DubVision then comes in to bring their signature progressive house madness to the remix pack, and they absolutely knock this remix out of the park with fantastic synth work, and always-strong composition style. For more big room, Overused comes in with a pounding take as well. Rounding out the EP is a collaborative remix from Ferreck Dawn & Redondo. The future/deep house vibe is alive and well on this remix, and it will fit perfectly into deeper sets.
These three remixes comprise only part one of the “Gold Skies” remixes, so stay tuned for any more information regarding part two. Be sure to grab them when they are released on September 8!
