Various Artists – Dannic Selection EP Vol. 1 [August 22 – Revealed Recordings]
Revealed Recordings has never been criticized for its leadership. At the helm of the visionary label is the world’s current #1 DJ, Breda native Hardwell. He has always been in charge of selecting and perfecting the tracks that come through the label. Now, the Dutch house music titan hands off the role of A&R to his friend and protégé, Dannic. This marks the first Dannic Selection EP, which contains three tracks curated and approved by Dannic himself. The tracks come from Tom & Jame, Flatdisk, and Mydo. In respective order, the tracks are titled “Combat,” “Horus,” and “Benidorm”. This first slate of tracks chosen by Dannic are due out on August 22.
It is easy to notice from the beginning that each of the three different tracks fit the typical “Dannic sound”. That is not to say that the songs are not creative, but they do fit a certain category. Starting with the Tom & Jame track, “Combat” combines a fantastic melody with a grooving drop that has a fantastic drive to it. Flatdisk brings “Horus,” which rocks a strong Middle Eastern vibe alongside its strong percussion. Mydo rounds out the EP with his Revealed Recordings debut, titled “Benidorm”. The track pays homage to the acid-house sound that Dannic brought to “Zenith”. Each track is powerful in it’s own rite, and each seems definitely poised for success in mainstream DJ sets.
Grab this EP when it drops on August 22. Enjoy!
