Kitties Wanna Dance 4 [Suara]
I’m a big fan of these big releases featuring a collection of songs in a certain genre or from a certain label. Suara has released their fourth collection now with KWD4, and I can honestly say that a good 85% of this collection is at least worth your ear if not your purchase. If you’re a fan of deep/tech/techno/house/sometimes almost indie dance, then this release is for you. Rather than go song by song, it probably would be best to point out a few of the tracks I personally enjoyed most because reviewing all 20 songs is a bit much.
Rascal is one of my favorites. Featuring a minimalistic drop that emphasizes space being filled by kick and bass, the track uses subtlety and production quality to give a powerful and energetic track to any late night club scene. Give Me Light is an awesome summer track with some smooth guitar, a pumping bass line, affected vocals and more. This track is a bit more standard modern deep house and isn’t too revolutionary, but it’s still not half bad for being one in the same. Delusions is also really well done with arpeggiating synths, a high energy drum beat and ambient feel, and nice samples to keep things on track and the mood up. Razor is a return to a more retro house vibe and is groovy as all get-out. I also enjoyed this entire release. So just listen to it and buy what you like. I won’t steer you wrong I promise.
