Beatjunkx & Monik – Midgaard [SB Records]

SB Records has made a remarkable climb into being one of the most well-respected free download labels on the Internet. It seems as though they are never short on content, but have never resorted to the release of poor quality music due to disparity. This next release shows major love to the homeland of the two guys that run this label, but also respect to the global dance music community as a Swede and an Australian have come together on a tune. Regardless of nationality, “Midgaard” is a fantastic offering from Beatjunkx and Monik. It doesn’t take a musical genius to know how well composed the track is. The sounds are full and big, and this goes for both the breakdown and the drop. The melody rocks an orchestral sound; one that would usually make an appearance on the movie soundtrack, but does a killer job on this electro track. The orchestral sound then takes a backseat as some of the biggest festival chords in recorded history fill up the hi, mid and low frequencies. After a suspense filled buildup, A quick vocal sample introduces the drop. “Midgaard” is nothing short of massive big room, and the track impresses with a dynamic chord progression and thundering bassline.
